Despite being cautious, Leandro having no vices, still contracted the virus and has hit him hard.

My husband, Leandro, has tested positive for COVID-19. He had shown symptoms last April 28th. He started feeling sick, having a fever and cough. Five days later (May 3rd), he has experienced another phase of symptoms and complained about difficulty in breathing. We were able to manage to self-medicate at home by taking teleconsultation, meds and purchasing an oxygen tank to help him breathe. We hoped and prayed he would recover soon but it didn’t happen.

Three days later, May 6th, I rushed him to the nearest hospital due to oxygen desaturation, as low as 77%. We all know how hard it is to find an available hospital due to increasing cases of COVID-19 but thankfully, on the third hospital that we went to, he was attended right away in the Emergency Room and later on was admitted in an isolation room.

I was with him throughout his stay in the hospital. Together with our dear family and friends, we continued to pray for Leandro’s full healing and recovery. Most of the days his oxygen level would be normal, but there are days that it’s not (went down as low as 83%).

After a week of having unstable oxygen saturation (May 12th), I have been informed that Leandro has to be transferred to the ICU. On that same day, with a heavy heart, I had to go home while he is being treated. He was intubated as his lungs is not functioning normally due to severe pneumonia, high infections on his blood and unstable oxygen saturation.

Two days later (May 14th), his oxygen level dropped again at 80%. The doctors have decided to perform a procedure called Chest Tube Thoracostomy. They inserted bilateral tubes within his ribs to his chest to drain air around his lungs.

Five days in ICU, I received a call early in the morning that his oxygen level dropped at 70%. His upper chest, neck and face have swollen. Thus, another procedure has to be done AGAIN called Chest Incision. This is to drain excess air under his skin, chest, neck, and face.

Despite his critical condition, Leandro undergoing different procedures, I have never lost my faith in God. I have never lost faith in my husband that he will recover and come home soon. My husband is indeed a FIGHTER.

I am happy to share that Leandro is already stable as of this writing and claiming thru the grace of God his continuous stability, healing, and recovery. Please pray for him as well. Thank you!

As my husband is fighting to recover, our hospital bills are piling up and has reached more than a million (1.2M) as of today, May 21st. I am asking your kind hearts to help us pay for our hospital expenses. We will be truly grateful in any amount that you can give.
