Hi! My name is Destiny. In October 2016, when I was 7 months pregnant, I had Mycoplasma pneumonia that nearly killed me and my son Eli. I was put under October 5th and had an emergency cesarean on October 7th due to my body not supporting me and the pregnancy. My mother had to sign consent for everything because I was unmarried. Upon waking up on October 10th, I was so shaken and distraught that I rushed into marriage to be sure that my mother never had to go through that again and I signed residential custody of my oldest Carter to his father in fear that he would have ended up in the system should I become deathly ill like that again.

The guy I married left in August 2017 and took Eli with him because I wasn't "stable" enough to take care of him and Carter's father was granted residential custody of him on October 18th, 2016.

Now, almost three years later, I am still fighting to get a divorce and get Eli and Carter back.

I have my own house, a stable job, and am seeing a counselor and psychiatrist for the post-partum depression and mental effects of the nearly dying from Mycoplasma pneumonia.

I just want my babies back. Carter cried and begged not to go back to his dad when he had to go back. Eli (barely can speak) cried "Mommy, no go!" and struggled to get out of his step-mother's arms and back to me when she came to pick him up. It breaks my heart.

There's no custody order for Eli, if that helps.
