This is my 10-year-old Niece, Lavinia . She is diagnosed with leukemia cancer (lymphocytic leukemia).As an older Aunt with some semblance of an adult life of my own, Lavinia’s diagnosis affected me differently than it did the rest of my family. It brings me pain to see her struggle with leukemia as the family could only raise little money for her treatment and medication. leukemias can only grow quickly and worse if not treated. Due to the immunity repressing nature of her treatment protocol, she did not attend school the first year after her diagnosis.
