Laurie’s Birthday Present + future fundraising for Aura’s Dogs UK

Hello everyone!

My name is Cristina Calvo (Cris Klover in facebook) and I'm one of the fosters of Aura's Dogs UK.

I have a little crazy but beautiful idea for LAURIE'S birthday and also to fundraise money for Aura's. Most of you would already know about it but I explain again just in case :) Part of it is a surprise for Laurie so don't tell her anything, please.

I have a friend that is a very talented artist specialized in animal portraits (she's also a vegan activist) and based in Bristol. Her name is Naomi Joy (I include links to her Instagram and website and also a selection of her art).

I've spoken with her about Aura's Dogs Uk and she wants to help but she's is not in a position to do it right now because she had to quit her other job and she's not in a financial position to do it straight away. So I came to an idea that can be double positive. She's going to open commissions on portraits this Wednesday. I've told her my idea and she is in, now it's my turn to do my part and explain it to others. The idea is to order her a portrait (size A3 ) of 6 or 8 dogs from Aura's, we can choose like a representation (among all) and give it to Laurie on her birthday in September as a super special and unique present. The cost of the painting is 300 pounds (unfortunately she can't do this for free) and I think that we can easily reach that amount if we find 20 or 30 people that loves Laurie (and/or Aura's Dogs... well I guess that if you love Aura's Dogs you love Laurie and the other way around) ..If we find 20 people that want to collaborate is just 15 pounds each if we found 30 just 10 pounds and so on...

After this, the idea is that Naomi will make cards for us with the painting (to sell them at Christmas or at any time of the year) and raise money for Aura's with them. Naomi is a totally trustworthy person and cares a lot about animals.

So doing this we have a wonderful present that Laurie would love forever and beautiful cards with dogs from Aura's to sell and just for a little bit of money from people that love her and love the trust.

My partner and I are totally in so it's 20 or 30 pounds to start with, are you in? If you can't afford 10 or 15 pounds or don't want to give that suggested amounts, any contribution is welcome. She's going to love it so much!
