Lauren’s Missions Trip to Zambia

Hey guys! I am on the brink of embarking on a journey that has been in my heart for a while now. I am participating in a medical missions trip to Zambia. My passion for missions began when I visited the beautiful country of Haiti a few years back. I saw all that the country had to offer like the breathtaking beaches, waterfalls and as many mangoes as a girl could eat. I enjoyed the warm embrace of the Haitian people but I also made of aware of the health disparities and was told how a little help goes a long way. It is my desire to eventual organize my own medical missions trip with black healthcare professionals so that children who look like me are able to see someone who looks like them in a position to give back. I think that representation can be life changing. So here is where I am starting. I want to go to Zambia, help, and learn so that my professional skills can be, as Maya Angelou puts it, a "rainbow in someone's cloud." There are a few expenses that are required to be able to volunteer and I’d like to give you the opportunity to contribute in whatever way you can. Every little bit helps.
