I have two reasons for raising funds for my upcoming trip to Nairobi, Kenya.
1. Because I need your help! I am currently half-way through my nursing program at NYU to become an RN. That means I am a full-time student who currently cannot pay all of the fees involved with volunteering and would very much appreciate any gifts friends and family are able to give to help me achieve my dreams of traveling overseas to help communities in need.
2. Because I want to bring awareness for organizations like GVN that send many volunteers all over the world to participate in projects bringing resources, labor, partnership, and love. Maybe you will find that there is a project you are interested in joining up with yourself! Or, if you are the type of person that would rather support others, I would love for you to considering donating to my project.
Breakdown of trip costs:
$1600-Volunteer Fees including room and board
$50-Visa into Kenya
$1500-Flight from New York to Nairobi, Kenya
$100-Immunizations
Any remaining balance will be donated to GVN's HIV/AIDS project which provides HIV testing, prevention supplies, medications, and therapy to thousands throughout the Kenyan community.
