In an increasingly pluralistic society it becomes ever more important to reason and explain why christains beleive what we believe.

I am pleased to announce that I have been accepted to the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics (OCCA) for the next phase of my studies to educate myself better in this area! The OCCA offers a one year programme which trains Christians in apologetics, whereby we look at how Christians can answer the really difficult questions concerning faith and Christianity in our day and age. For example, "Has science buried God?" or "Arn't all religions the same?", just to mention a few. We learn how we can communicate the gospel and the Christian worldview through discourse and argumentation so it is relevant in our society today.

The programme goes alongside one year of studying theology at the University of Oxford at Wycliffe Hall, completing the “Certificate of Theological Studies”. We will be getting training in debating and public speaking and will have the great opportunity of learning from renowned scholars such as John Lennox and Os Guiness, for example.

OCCA is part of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM). The primary mission of RZIM is to reach and challenge those who shape the ideas of a culture with the credibility of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Its goal is to touch both the heart and the intellect of the thinkers and influencers of society.

With my love for debating and getting into discussions with people about faith, I would like to do this programme in order to be better equipped, grow in my gifting and receive a good grounding in theology.

This year of study costs a considerable amount of money. In order to cover my tuition fees, the OCCA programme and my living costs, I will need to raise a total of £23,500. Some of it has already been provided but a substantial amount is still needed - at least £8,000.
