Latvia Mission Trip

Welcome to my fundraising for my mission trip the Latvia this summer!

My name is Andrew Jefferson, and I am preparing to be deployed to Latvia for the second time from July 15-25 to serve the people of Vecmīlgrāvis, Latvia. Our team is going to further the work done in previous years to help and support the only evangelical church in Vecmīlgrāvis. Our main objective is to reach out to children of the city using the tools of VBS,crafts, sports, English, drama and music. The children we will be serving come from a multitude of backgrounds. Some children are orphaned, some come from broken homes, and many of these children and families have never heard the Gospel. Last year we were able to serve around 200 children and families. On the first day the children showed up in their best clothes and the VBS was held in the Cultural Palace in Vecmīlgrāvis. Looks were deceiving as the days following the children wore the same pair of clothing for the rest of the week. Quickly I realized the majority of these children were living in poverty. It is incredible how much of a blessing my time with these children was last summer. I am looking forward to serving once again this summer and build upon the friendships and relationships I made last year.

This will be my second year going on this trip, and the fifth year that West U Baptist and Crosspoint Church has partnered with Pastor Peter Samoylich.
