I can't believe i'm actually doing this! anyway here goes.... Hi my name is Kelly, im 33 years old, have 6 children and live in London. Without going into to much detail i just want to give a brief overview of my circumstances so people can understand why i'm in this situation and that i am not a scrounger and hate the fact i have to do this......In July 2014 i found out the devestating news that i had breast cancer and to be honest it totally knocked me for six. Immeditely i was overwhelmed with the prospect of dying and the thought of having to leave my children aged 1, 2, 4, 6, 10 and 12 by themselves. The thought of dying was one thing but the thought of having to leave my children behind when i knew they were not able to look after themselves was even more heartbreaking than the cancer news. Anyway, because of the size of the tumor in my left breast (5cm) i was told i would be starting chemotherapy prior to surgery in order too try and reduce the size of the tumor. 5 months later i have just been informed that my care team wish to stop the chemo because it hasn't worked and my surgery date is now confirmed for the 16th January 2015, after which i may need further chemopheraphy or radiotherapy. When i found out i had cancer that was bad enough and i never dreamed things could get any worse, but in true Kelly style it has. Because of my chemotherapy i had to give up work, which meant financially things become very strained. As i couldnt work, i couldn't pay my rent and had to apply for housing benefit, however, because i wasnt working i immediately became affected by the benefit cap and couldn't receive more than £500 pw in benefits, which didnt even cover my rent, which is £2800 pcm. Because i have fallen behind with my rent I have now had an eviction notice from my landlord and have had to go to my local council for help with housing, however they have said that because i didnt pay the rent and am in rent arrears i will in fact have made myself intentially homeless and therefore they couldn't help me. I have also been told by my landlord  that i will not be getting back my deposit that i initially paid when i moved into my current house as it will need to go towards clearing my outstanding rent arrears, so i dont have a deposit to secure a new home for myself and my children. I'm therefore asking for the help of complete strangers to try and raise enough funds to either secure a new property before my family and i become homeless. I am trying to raise 10,000 pounds, this will provide the inital deposit and a months rent in advance. It will also cover any agency fees and reference checks etc. Any remaining funds will be used to get any basic furniture needed to make the new house a home for my family. If there is any money left over after that i will donate it to Cancer Research in the hope it will go towards finding new ways to beat cancer.   Thank you for reading my post and i hope you can find it in your heart to help.   Kind regards
