Campaign Story
The French government have confirmed their plans to close the camp at Calais. This has been slightly delayed due to tireless work by amazing charities like Help Refugees, who are taking the British government to court over their lack of a plan for the 1022 children in the camp, nearly 200 of whom have a legal right to be in the UK.
We're going back again next weekend to do what we can to help. Everything is uncertain, we don't know whether the closure will have started or what will be needed, but last time we went there was so much to do. Thanks to all of your generous donations, we were able to buy food, shoes, and one day when there was panic because they had run out, hundreds of tins of tomatoes to feed people. It's an incredibly hand to mouth operation, so every penny counts.
Please do give if you can. The people at Calais have already lost everything, and they're about to lose it all over again.
