Daddy’s Fund for Laryngeal Operation

Hi! My name is Elinor. I’m running a fundraising program for my father Kennedy Blancaflor. He is 55 years old and needs to have a repeat operation this year. My father was diagnosed with Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma stage 3 cancer.

March 2016. He experienced difficulty in breathing and felt that he is easily burnt out even he is not doing anything. After series of check-ups and further monitoring on his medical condition, he went for Suspension Laryngoscopy with Biopsy of tissue and diagnosed with Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Neck. In his case, his larynx (voice box) was also affected so he went to successful operation with God's healing hands, he survived the 6-hr operation. The operation made him unable to speak and eat. His feeding will not be through his mouth but through NGT (Nasogastric Tube). Mid-October to Novermber 2016, He did chemotherapy and radiation therapy as a treatment.

Earlier this year, he found out that there's a growing tumor on his neck, we went to his doctor and they requested neck, chest and mediastinum CT Scan with contrast. According to to the result there is internal development of a heterogeneously enhancing lobulated mass lesion with ill-defined borders in the right paramedian anterior neck, superior to the laryngeal stoma (level of C6-C7) and is seen to extend inferiorly insulating between the right tracheal wall and right common carotid artery, encasing the previously seen residual right lobe. The mass lesion approximately measures 5.2 x 4.9 x 4.5 cm with an enhancing nodular density along the left laryngeal stomal wall which measures 1.3 x 1.4 cm. The doctor says that he needs to go to another operation and do chemotherapy again.

The main reason why our family decided to put up a fund raising for him is because we have exhausted all of our funds and resources as the medical bills have increased to greater cost.
