Lady Cherie’s liver recovery

Hi Friends!

As most of you know Lady Cherie is a chronically ill dog. Right now Lady is very sick! She has Chronic acute pancreatitis and she has had a severe flare up. This is her 3rd hospitalization in just over 2 weeks unfortunately this time is worse.

The first two times Lady was hospitalized, she wasn't keeping her food down and she was getting dehydrated. We also found out about her UTI and started treating it.

She starting doing amazing and I opted to bring her home but she started regurgitating some so the next day, which was 10/9, I took her for some fluids, she got some injectable tummy meds and lots of Lovings from her friends. That night she continued to regurgitate but she was still eating and drinking. During the middle of the night she peed in the living room and it was very very yellow. I thought she was just dehydrated and I was going to take her in for fluids at her appointment on 10/10. The next morning Lady's gums were pale so I brought her in and her Doctor saw her immediately. Within a few minutes we learned she was jaundiced.

Lady's liver counts were over 1,100 which is much higher than the 200 it should be under.

This is happening because her pancreatitis is still raging. That means her pancreas is swollen and keeping her liver and gallbladder from doing their jobs.

Lady is being hospitalized to give her supportive therapy while she gets thru this. Tomorrow 10/12 we will recheck her bloodwork to see if her liver levels are (hopefully) going down or what is happening with them.

We appreciate any help with Lady's bill!! We know tomorrow 10/12 her bill will be close to what it was on Wednesday 10/10 so I set the fundraiser for $700. I will increase or decrease as needed plus posting all of the estimates and receipts!

**The hospital does not take call in donations. They have a PayPal but there must be 5 people committed to using it before that can be utilized**
