Labrador born without hip sockets - Urgent surgery needed ♥ Please donate
Baily has been diagnosed with stage four hip dysplasia as he was born with out hip sockets. It’s a lifelong skeletal disorder that will lead to early onset of painful osteoarthritis
I have two options
-Total hip replacementthis procedure is insanely expensivebut will result in new titanium hips that he can run on for the rest of his life
-Femoral head amputation (cutting off the ball of his femur bone so that it does not rub on his socketless hips. His leg would then be held together by muscle only but there would be less chance of server arthritis.
The first surgery will cost around R50 000 and the second around R15 000. I’m hoping to raise enough money for a full hip replacement. To achieve this goal I would require an incredible amount of support, sharing this page and donations. Should I fall short of my goal and be left with option two I intend to use any extra money on things like food supplements for bone health, memory foam dog bed, water therapy and anything that will give him a better quality of life.
This little beautiful soul has a massive heart and gentle nature, he is my very best friend! We are together 24/7. He is my companion on an isolated farm while my husband works shifts. Baily may not be a trained service dog but he sure is a life line. He wakes me up from PTSD induced nightmares and insists on sunshine and play on dark days.Being a woman alone on a farm night after night in South Africa is incredibly difficult. With Baily by my side I feel safe not even a moth’s and bugs get past this alert vigilant little protector.
True to his retriever nature, Baily’s favourite thing to do is to fetch ball. If he’s not playing ball he’s hinting at playing ball. His high energy and love for play should not be contributing to a life of pain and deterioration but it is. Please donate and share and help me give my beautiful boy the best chance to live his best life. Any amount no matter how small will add up! Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
