Labiaplasty – Embarrassing but Necessary

An accident, a deformation, a wedding .. After suffering an accident that has deformed a part of my external labia I have become quite uncomfortable with my body and retreated when it comes to intimacy. Despite this, there is a man that loves me and wants to marry me. I have explored various options with plastic surgeons on how I can go about having a normal sex life again. It has been narrowed down to a Labiaplasty with the inclusion of a small prosthesis. I am getting married in April 2018 and would do anything for the opportunity to have this operation and rekindle intimacy with my future husband. I want to be able to be open and confident again and celebrate our love properly on our wedding night. MEDICAL AID WILL NOT COVER ANY OF THESE PROCEDURES. Therefore any donation will be greatly welcomed and appreciated.

I have added a video of a general Labiaplasty procedure however I will also need to have a prosthesis fitted similar to that of someone with gender reassignment.

Thank you for your enquiry about labiaplasty.

A labiaplasty is a relatively simple procedure that is performed under local anaesthetic in our day clinic. Your recovery will be a min of 7-10 days till normal activity and 6 weeks for full return to all and sexual activity.

The average cost of a labioplasty procedure, depending on if it is just one side or both sides can range between and estimate of +/- R14 000 – R28 000. The prosthesis cost will depend on what we decide to use. The average cost can range between an estimate of +/- R53 000 – R61 000.

Above fees is excluding the consultation fee (R1100), medication required for after surgery (+/-R1400) and overnight should you require (R4500).

(Please note that these fees are only estimates and can change once you have seen the doctor for a physical examination/ consultation)

Medical aid is unlike to cover a procedure like this.

As you can see the procedure will cost a lot more than what I have requested for funding, I have been saving up as much as personally possible, however with the expenses of the wedding as well as usual life expenses I am struggling to make it realistic. Please consider the importance of sexual health in a relationship and assist in giving us a good start to our marriage.
