Dear Amigos

The past few weeks have been devastating on the restaurant industry, and the country as a whole, and has deeply affected our businesses. We understand the dire straits which COVID 19 has placed on our country and respect the President’s decision of lockdown in SA, however this has become a stressful and tragic time for all our staff, who rely on salaries and tips to survive each month.

We are in uncertain times, with restaurants having being the first in line enduring the COVID19 restrictions. The Initial regulations of no more than 50 people per store, including staff and customers, came into affect prior to the call for a total lockdown. We do not know when we will get to re-open to full capacity, or being able to have our full team of staff return to their second home, their workplace.

We are trying to keep the business alive so that all our approx. 80 odd staff can return to their regular jobs, and that their lives all return to normal as soon as possible, after this devastating pandemic.

La Rosa Mexican Grille is only going into our 4th year. We entered a rare market, introducing a variety of Burrito’s, Antijito’s, Taco’s & Tequila’s to our newish Mexican based customer. Our staff compliment from the frontline barmen and waiters to our kitchen and cleaning staff, help make your Mexican experience as authentic as we aim for.

Many customers might recall our frontline staff but we also have a large compliment of kitchen staff behind the scenes that pitch up every day for shifts, Monday through to Sunday, to make your experience one that you will enjoy and return for more.

So we need your HELP

We request that you donate any value towards our staff. Any donation which is received will go directly to our staff so they we are able to assist them during this pandemic. We have tried to assist with food packages, however legislation is not allowing for just anyone to donate food packages and it seems the authorised organisations are battling to deal with each and everyone’s plea for assistance.

So our next idea was to raise funds and distribute weekly between the staff.

We will be running a Meet the Team campaign on our social media pages, which will enable you to get to know our staff behind the scenes. To know who you are helping and donating towards. Who will have a little less stress week to week knowing they have a small contribution to keep themselves going.

Every rand donated will go to helping our team.

If you are not in a position to donate, please share this post.

For any donation received, we will give back to our community.
