Kyrone's Bio
Born November 7, 1994 in Monmouth county NJ , Ky developed the passion for boxing at 8 years-old after attending his cousin’s boxing match. Shortly thereafter, Ky started boxing in Newark, NJ under Coach Tim Wilson. In 2005 his family moved to Delaware where a age 12 he trained under the late Coach Lou Lum for four years at the William Hicks Anderson Community Center in Wilmington, DE. Currently Kyrone continues to train at WHACC in Wilmington under Coach Doug Pettiford. In addition he strength trains with Barry Swanson of Train Hard Win Big Inc.
· Kyrone will graduate from Christiana High School in June 2013.
· Plans on attending Delaware Technical College while also pursuing a career as a personal trainer.
· Kyrone has aspirations to compete in 2016 Olympics with the ultimate goal of turning pro shortly thereafter.
Kyrone is eldest of 4 children. He is a big help to his family and invested member in his community to include:
- Member of the Wilmington Fire Department Explorers Program Post 100
- Serving as Chaplain for the YMCA Young Black Achievers Program
- YMCA Youth in Government
- Boxing mentor for other youth in the city
- Member Christian Love Worship Cathedral Youth Ministry
Kyrone Needs Your Support!!
Travel and accommodations to participate in national tournaments is extremely expensive. Due to budgets cuts, previous funding sources are no longer available. However, this doesn’t have to be the end of the road. With your help Kyrone will still have the opportunity to compete nationally and have the chance to compete in the 2016 Olympics
