Kyle & Bianca – World Championships 2019

Kyle & Bianca are very talented 11 & 13 year old siblings from Bellville, Cape Town with a huge talent for Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate.

In February 2012, Kyle & Bianca started Karate at the Kinjite Karate Academy and was soon showing Sensei Neels Nagel that “dynamite comes in small packages” isn’t just a saying. Kyle & Bianca quickly started outshining their peers and fellow competitors and by July 2012 they won Gold at their first tournament.

By 2013 they were raking in the Gold medals at various tournaments and by October 2016 they were standing on the podiums at the 10th Africa Goju-Ryu Karate Federation Championships, held in Johannesburg.

These continental titles allowed them to qualify to represent South Africa at the 2017 World Goju-Ryu Championship being held in Bucharest, Romania from 13-17 September 2017. An amazing achievement and honour for the siblings.

At the 2017 World Goju-Ryu Championship in Romania they again excelled in reaching the podium. Kyle fought his way back from losing in the semi Final to the eventual tournament winner, achieving Bronze on the World stage while Bianca lost a fiercely contested final to achieve Silver.

These spectacular achievements have cemented their determination and they now have their eyes set firmly on future Olympic glory. The Olympics may be a few years away for them, but by attending the World Goju-Ryu Championships in September 2019 they will be one step closer in making their dreams a reality.

However, as you can imagine, competing internationally is a very expensive endeavour and therefore we are appealing to you for your generous assistance to help them raise the monies needed to make their dreams a reality.

The RSA team will be required to travel to Malaysia between the dates 14 to 26 September 2019, subject to final itinerary.

As sport is self-funded for most South Africans, we appeal to any benefactor who may be willing to support Kyle & Bianca Corbellari in any way
