KWF Spin4Life Spinning Charity Life

My name is Tamar Laurey and last September my very inspiring teacher of mine lost his fight to cancer. This was a very emotional process as he was a fighter. He fought until the very end, always turning up to teach and give it all even though he wasn't at his best. He didn't give up and he always fought until the day that he was too ill to come teach.

I did this as it didn't only affect me but also many other students, alumni, parents, teachers, friends and more. As five students of Hotel and Hospitality Management, we set up this project together with KWF (to directly aid in the furthering of cancer research. Everyone knows someone who lost the fight to cancer, has cancer or has won the fight against cancer. Perhaps you also know of someone yourself.

Our Teacher, Mr. Liesker inspired us to fight. That regardless of the hardship, emotions that we should always push through and be relentless. It amazed us to see how someone so strong slowly become weaker and weaker. It had first confused me but made me realise how helpless it makes us. I decided to make the change and begin the fight against cancer.

My name is Tamar Laurey and I am a student currently studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Rotterdam. With the help of four other students, we will be setting up a spectacular spin biking event in Ahoy Rotterdam on the 7^th of April 2018. With this event, we want to generate the highest possible of donations as possible in name of KWF for Cancer research.

As we do not have a starting budget, it means that all the financing has to be done on the basis of donations and personal financing. We have no interest in the money itself, rather interest in using it as a tool to make this a memorable and impactful event on our fight against cancer.
