Kumar’s (Shasha’s Husband) Medical Care

Shasha, one of our RENs from RPPC, got married to Kumar in 2005. Together, they have a 6-year old son called Mitran.

Just a month ago, Kumar underwent a heart bypass surgery that had cost them RM 80,000. It had depleted most of their savings.

Soon after that bypass surgery, Kumar experienced sudden seizures and he was referred by CVSKL Cardiac Centre to University Malaya Specialist Centre.

At University Malaya Specialist Centre, the doctors confirmed their suspicions that he was suffering from a brain tumor. Kumar's Neurosurgeon confirmed that he is suffering from Glioblastoma-gbm stage 4 ; an aggressive growing brain tumor.

Immediate surgery needed to be done and his family rushed him to a Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

The brain surgery to remove a major portion of the tumor costs their family another RM 300,000. Now, after the surgery, he has to undergo Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy as part of the first 8 weeks process.

The medical cost for this 8 weeks of Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy are estimated to be another RM 200,000.

For the next 6 months, the estimated cost of Chemotherapy will be another RM 300,000.

Kumar needs quality medical care. Shasha's 6-year old son, Mitran, needs his dad as part of his life.

Their family needs financial support from us in order to make it through this tough ordeal.
