THE LIVES OF FURRIES IN SEREMBAN, MALAYSIA DEPEND ON YOU
Our NGO, Furrykids Safehaven in Seremban, Malaysia was registered with Registrar of Societies on 5th Dec 2017. We have been rescuing strays from the streets as well as from the dog-catchers paid by the government. In the state of Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia, the strays are put to sleep after being caught. Dogs are seen as a nuisance. We have been asked to move out of the current land as the landlady is unhappy with the number of dogs, the 'smell' and the noise. The residents in the neighbouring area have threatened to burn the shelter down.
We do not have the funds or resources to buy land. We have found 2 acres of land at reasonable rent and plan to move to the new land but we do not have funds to put up a new shelter.
Our objectives:
- to neuter as many strays as possible under Trap-Neuter-Rehome/Release program.
- to provide shelter for puppies, senior, handicapped and critically ill doggies.
Monthly donations are never enough for our expenses which include kibbles/food, vaccination and neutering costs, other medical expenses, rental, wages for 7 workers, utilities and other expenses. We need your help badly to construct a shelter where there are sections for puppies, handicapped doggies, senior doggies, clinic with surgery room, workers quarters and kitchen.
Please do help us to save the strays as the authorities in Malaysia generally do not think dogs' lives are important.
