Krystal and Lola’s car broke down … Please help get them into a new ride!!!

Friends, Family, Community, and beyond... I am creating this funding campaign today on behalf of my daughter Krystal. Krystal has been a very responsible young adult and thus far has made ends meets on her own. She is a single mom dealing with the everyday struggles that a single parent copes with. She manages it independently and with pride. Every day she cares for and finds homes for animals that have no place to be and need homes of their own. Early last month, her daughter, my granddaughter, Lola (age 9) experienced a medical emergency which nearly cost her life. Due to an unknown cause her immune system began attacking its own blood platelets exhausting them to a lethal level. The result of this immune system malfunction is known as ITP ( Ideopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura). You can message me if you want to know more about this condition. She was life-flighted down to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland where she remained for the next four weeks. She basically experienced a hemorrhage in her brain due to the low blood platelets that caused what resembles a stroke and has had to undergo intense physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation to get to a point where she can come home and continue these rehab efforts and recover for the remainder of her care. We are extremely thankful they returned home last week. However, several of the required therapy, follow ups, and continuing diagnostic appointments continue to be in the San Francisco bay area (We live in a rural community 6 HOURS North) and will require travel back and forth for several months if not indefinitely. Krystal has already lost four weeks of work, now has to cut back her hours on a regular basis due to more intensive supervision of Lola as well as attending the many appointments necessary for her ongoing care. Fortunately, Lola does have medical coverage to cover the medical expenses. The travel expenses to date and looking forward (Fuel, Lodging, time off work, etc.) have been, and will continue to accumulate. In addition to having this drastic cut in her pay that she depends on, and excessive travel expenses looming, the day of their return Krystal’s car broke down and has left her without reliable transportation to make these appointments. The cost of repairing are in excess of the value of the car. We (Her parents) had just bought said car 6 months ago and were not prepared to be making another car purchase so soon. I am loaning her my car for now but we are looking into options for getting her into a new dependable vehicle so she can not only get Lola to the several out of the area appointments but even just to work, school and doctor appointments here at home. We are hoping that this 'GoGetFunding' account can help make getting Krystal into a new vehicle not such a huge burden. Depending on how much money we can raise these funds would either be utilized as a down payment on a vehicle or purchase of a vehicle. Any amount will help. Even just the ability to make a substantial down payment so that Krystal can then make payments on herself from her wages from her job would be amazing!!!
