Kozy Canines Needs Studio for Coat Donations

These adorable supermodels in the pictures above are just a few of my clients! I make dog coats and have been so incredibly lucky to find the one thing in life that truly makes me happy! I've been selling these coats online for about 4 years now and my customer base is growing every day. The problem is sewing them in my really tiny living room. I need to get into a studio so I can grow my business with walk in customers as well as something else that I'm really excited about. I would like to hold "Pupperwear" Parties for people and their dogs at least 2 times a week to raise funds for two charities in my area, the Vancouver SPCA and RAPS, the Richmond Animal Protection Society. I will also commit to donating 8 coats per month to each charity for a minimum of 5 years, that they can either give to the animals currently in their care or use them for the raffles they hold in their fundraising efforts.                                                                                                                                        

What We Need & What You Get

As some of you may know, the city I live in, Vancouver, BC is very beautiful, but very expensive. Since I can't afford a house as well as a studio, I'm looking to buy a warehouse/showroom with a caretaker suite above. The front showroom will be a dream studio with room for all my fabric! Plus, I'll have the space for the "Pupperwear" parties and walk in customers. That way, my commute to work is a few steps, so I won't even need to ride the bus!! I have $20,000 already in place, but will need another $20,000 to make a generous down payment. I don't want a high mortgage payment along with strata fees to sink my project before I can make a difference!

The Impact

For as long as I can remember, I've always taken in stray and rescued animals, from dogs to baby birds. I can't possibly take in all the animals I want, and right now I have two lovebirds and two zebra finches, plus two stray cats that show up twice a day and actually have the nerve to hiss at me when I bring their food! So I try to find other ways I can help, like money or coats for injured or shelter dogs, cats, birds and any other animals in need.

In my gallery, you'll find three newspaper articles of dogs that I've donated coats to because of the hardships they're going through. I keep my eyes open all the time for other opportunities like those to help and would really be able to make more of a difference in the lives of many more animals if I can grow my business.
