The Winter season in South Africa, starting in Mid-May, can be brutal. Each year, thousands of people get displaced by severe winter storms that cause havoc, especially to the vulnerable. These storms are often accompanied by heavy rain, gale force winds, intense cold etc. The Summer rainfall season starts in Mid-November and surprise-storms accompanied by tornadoes happens often. People, especially those living in rural areas often have no warning whatsoever.
The main objective of this campaign is to create jobs by creating CERTs (Community Emergency Response Teams) that will be highly trained in Emergency And Disaster Management, enable my business to acquire the right equipment to issue Early Warnings, do extensive awareness campaigns about storm related hazards in communities and help with emergency supplies when disaster strikes. What we need are donations to do the above and have 1 office in all 9 provinces of SA and to buy office equipment and emergency supplies for each office. There is also a need for mobile storm chasing vehicles (2 per province) to track severe storms and minibuses (2 per province) to help remove people quickly in dangerous storm incidents or take supplies to communities in need.
We need to create informed communities asap and see to it that the impacts of severe storms are mitigated.
Thank you so much for your support.
