Campaign Story
Andrei was diagnosed to have a very rare neuro-endorcine tumor in the thymus which also affected his heart's superior vena cava and blood vessels in the lungs. In October 2016, he underwent an unsuccessful operation to remove the tumor. The reason, according to the doctors, is that the removal will be too risky. Since then, he has undergone chemotherapy, radiation therapy and medications. His fight with this cancer makes it more difficult as the tumor also secretes a stress hormone called ACTH (cortisol) which developed into Cushing syndrome. Cushing syndrome has made his blood pressure skyrocket, depleted his calcium level in his bones and made him develop fats in his back (humback) and abdomen. These has made him less mobile and he had developed a number of fractures in the ribs and thigh bones. Andrei is 29 years old and should have been very productive. But this disease has made him bed ridden.
Last month, his health turned to the worst. He was admitted to the ICU since January 3. He is on ventilator and just recently, he had a tracheostomy in order to make his breathing much better. The family is knocking on your kind heart as his hospital bills reached 700,000 pesos. A small donation will mean much for Andrei and his family.
Andrei's family thanks you for your donation which will make a big difference as Andrei and his family still battle with his cancer. May God bless all of you!
