After talking to relatives who informed me that a lot of people in Uganda live 'hand to mouth'. The grand children set-up a virtual regular meeting to discuss a way forward to help benefit the community as well as family members in desperate need.
We therefore came up with an initiative to the problem. Which was to restore the original building that was destroyed during the civil war in the late 70s belonging to our legendary late grandfather Michael Kintu. Along with creating additional buildings that will consist of a total of 5 to 2-3 storey apartments in memory of our grandfather Katikkiro Michael Kintu (who happened to be a very important political figure in Uganda).
The additional buildings will help to create jobs, shelter, education for the surrounding community; plus provide a safe haven for family members to live and work including holiday lets.
Finally, as our grandfather was a political figure, the official title will incorporate the community and his family and eventually be named in memory of our grandfather as 'The late Katikkiro Michael Kintu Foundation' Legacy.
