Several grandchildren to the former late Katikkiro 1955 - 1965 (which means prime minister) Michael Kintu, set-up a virtual meeting on how to actively begin to restore their grandfathers legacy. It took some thinking and it will certainly require every family member, friends and interested parties contribution.

The grandchildren therefore came up with an initiative to the problem, which would be to restore the original building, that was destroyed during the civil war in the late 70s, belonging to their legendary late grandfather. To also extend the build by creating additional buildings that will consist of commercial apartments as holiday lets to help maintain, accommodate, and support the surrounding community. Plus provide a safe haven for family members related to Michael Kintu to live and work in harmony.

Finally, as Michael Kintu was a political figure in Uganda, the official title will incorporate his family and the community be titled as 'Katikkiro Michael Kintu Foundation'.

  • Initially, I started saving (in cash) for 6 members of my immediate family, as soon as I had joined the Steering Committee Group, back in July 2020. I am serious about this project and I want it to succeed. We are a large family and we need to get them to donate. I have said this before and I will say it again; that if 350 people each donated 8,999 Ugandan shillings a week for one year. We could begin to start building the main building and have it completed in one year. We all need to chip in and donate what we can. Let's get this show on the road!
