Klipfontein Methodist reward excursion

My Name is Charlene Petersen. I'm a grade 6 educator at Klipfontein Methodist Primary School, located in the poverty stricken Philippi East on the Cape Flats. In 2019, I made a promise to my 60 students that, if they can increase their Mathematics Systemic Results to above 30% ,in the annual mathematics standardized testing, I would treat all 60 kids to an outing.

This may not seem like a hard task, but consider that the previous year, Klipfontein MPS had achieved a mere 18% pass rate in the Systemic Mathematics Test . I was overjoyed when the results came out and the students achieved a 45% pass rate. As a result I am looking for funding to give these 60 kids, who have worked hard to achieve their goal an unforgettable experience...will be taking place on school grounds in the first term of the 2020 year.

It is my wish to treat the 60 kids to a meal, snacks as well as screening a movie on a Saturday. Given that the areas in which the kids live are racially diverse, I feel it is important to allow the opportunity for everyone to socialise in an environment, outside of general school.
