“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” – Chinese Proverb
Starting in April 2014 two couples, Joshua & Kimberly Zabec and Nathanael & Kelly Gregg decided to risk everything and invest in the opportunity of a lifetime. They purchased 20 acres of raw land in the historic Kinsale, Virginia area (near Washington and Monroe's birth place). The two couples knew that change from the current American lifestyle was a must and they wanted to help others with the same ideas. Like the Founding Fathers they wanted to give generations to come a new opportunity. Joshua comes from a business background including business management, reality, and start-ups. While Nathanael has a Culinary, Organic Argriculture, and Sustainable Husbandry background; particulary focusing on grain-free, forage based diets. Kimberly and Kelly both have a focus in education and early childhood development. Our ultimate goal is so that when we are fully developed we can act as a learning center for sustainable agriculture and holistic living focusing in the areas of: Land developement and design through permaculture principles, sustainable building, energy production, aquaculture, mushroom cultivation, pasture management and rotational grazing, fruit tree and shrub planting and production, foraged swine rearing, gourment seasonal cooking classes, alternative medicine, greenhouse construction and production, raw dairy production and so much more. We will also have weekend retreats for disadvantaged children and youth and give them the opportunity to expand their horizons through natural living.
