Kindred – A Lasalle Final Year Short Film

Hi there! We are a group of young and passionate Year 3 Diploma in Broadcast Media students from Lasalle College of the Arts. We are currently embarking on a Short Film, 'Kindred' for our Final Year Project, and we are keen to show you what we are currently working on!

The Film.

After his upper class parents went broke, a spoilt make is sent to live with his Grandma in her run-down flat.

Despite her kindness, Mike repeatedly disrespects his relative, breaking her heart. Inevitably he will learn his lesson in this drama short film. Simple, yet touching, this film will drive our hearts into appreciating the simple things we take for granted.

Director's Statement.

This film is inspired by things that I have experienced in my Childhood.

I want to bring a story across that would show singaporean culture and a film that would illustrate the bridging of two different social classes.

Our Purpose.

This short film is intended to reach into us and remind us of the simple things that we often take for granted. We want to tell a story that would evoke our audience with nostalgia while warming their hearts.

Our Vision.

we want to make a film that brings a sentimental value, and that will mostly be coming forth in our artistic direction. Our artistic look for this film is a soft warm-toned, desaturated look to immerse our audience and bring them closer to home.

How will your donation be used?

Every dollar of your donation would go into creating a short film with a high production value and a film of outstanding quality. With your kind donation, you will be helping us to drive the artistic elements to tell our story as well as to provide for the welfare of our cast and crew.

Proceeds will be used to fund the following:

• Casting
• Location & Permits
• Props & Set Design
• Hair, Makeup and Wardrobe
• Transportation
• Catering for Cast & Crew
• ART kits, masks, sanitiser
• Post Production

We foresee that our art concept and props will be our biggest expense, hence any amount will be greatly appreciated as each dollar counts into producing this film.
