Campaign Story
Hi Everyone! This fall I am getting the opportunity to travel to Europe to volunteer through an organization called IVHQ (International Volunteer HQ). As many as of you probably know, traveling to Europe is expensive and even the fees for this program are out of my budget. However, the experience would be an opportunity for me to get involved in serving a new community while I simultaneously further my education. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate any donation amount that is offered! All donations will be going towards fees for the program.
My goal for the future is to help people through therapy and counseling. By being able to immerse myself in a different culture and work with people from a wide range of socioeconomic, religious, and societal backgrounds I will gain the proper insight and sensitivity that can be used in my future career of helping others.
My volunteer project is titled "NGO Support." This is the description provided by IVHQ:
"NGOs in Naples generally have limited resources and rely heavily on local and international volunteer support to run their various initiatives. As a volunteer on the NGO Support project, you will have the opportunity to assist a local NGOs who work in the fields of either community development, child and youth welfare, immigration and migrant support, or human rights (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community). These NGOs require volunteer support, primarily in administration, organizing and running community workshops, conferences and outreaches, English language support, networking and communication, organizational development, and research. Volunteers who have relevant experience, may also have the opportunity to become involved in counseling and providing legal support to migrants seeking humanitarian asylum."
I am so excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and thank you for helping me!
