#KILIMANJAROSA2017 – FOR KIDS IN AFRICA

TEAM #KILIMANJAROSA2017 would like to welcome you to join us on our journey in planting the seed of hope for the many destitute orphans in sub-Saharan Africa.

We are a group of ten ordinary people who would like to change the status quo for the orphans of the sub-Sahara. Our aim is to raise much-needed funds to provide for the educational and basic material needs of these young lives.

Sub-Saharan Africa, one of the world’s poorest regions, is characterised by extreme poverty, social unrest, political upheaval and many other unspeakable ills. Sadly, it is the children who ultimately suffer the consequences of such turmoil. We have thus undertaken to trek to the highest peak in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro; this venture will take place in August 2017. We will also be visiting one of the villages in Tanzania where Muslim Hands, our partner in this endeavor, has already started actively engaging with communities in order to gauge the extent of their needs.

Our initial aim is to raise a minimum of R500 000, which will be allocated to various educational and up liftment projects. We have already commenced with fundraising initiatives, and have started raising greater public awareness of this initiative, by using social media platforms.
