No I am not going to ride from Kilimanjaro to Currie - but hopefully I have your attention.
This year Currie celebrates 25 years of Riding of the Marches events and I will hopefully be lucky enough to be their Ensign. I hope to be able to participate in many Common Rides and Riding of the Marches visiting old friends and making new friends along the way. It would be great if you could come and support me on Saturday 3rd May at Curries Riding of the Marches. This is a great ride to start the season and get not only your horse fit but ease yourself back into the saddle. After the ride we are hoping to have a BBQ and then a Ceilidh in the evening.
The costs of providing hospitality is always a challenge so to help raise funds I am going to climb Kilimanjaro in March. This is a real challenge for me as I haven't climbed any hills never mind a mountain oh and I've never slept in a tent either!!!
Kilimanjaro rises from the Savannah lands of northern Tanzania near Kenya to a 5,895m high peak. It’s the highest mountain in Africa and the largest free-standing mountain in the world. It takes 5 days to reach the peak and only 2 days to descend it!!
All money that I raise will be used for Curries activites as I have self funded the climb.
All support will be greatly appreciated and I promise to update you on my return with photos and a newsletter of my experiences.
You can donate via PayPal or if you prefer if you give me the money I will add it to the fund.
