Dear Family & Friends,
I'll be climbing Mount. Kilimanjaro from December 16- 23, 2018 with a group of friends. While ascedning Kili sounds like a daunting task, with your help, support and prayers, I'm sure we will be able to successfully climb to the top.
As part of the preparation process, i'll be climbing for a cause that means so much to me - Childhood Education in South Africa.
Despite South Africa’s relative economic success, the country’s apartheid era left a legacy of inequality and poverty that still plagues a large portion of its population today. Only 14 percent of South Africa’s black students finish high school, compared to 65 percent of white students. Inadequate school conditions and scarce teaching materials limit learning opportunities for children of color, especially in rural and densely populated urban areas.
The target is to raise US$10,000 which will be donated to Axium Education (https://www.axiumeducation.org/) , a childhood education charity in South Africa's Eastern Cape and Trinity Children’s Center, a school located in the Cape Flats, an area around Cape Town known for physical violence. www.trinitychildren.org.za
I will appreciate your generous donations and strongly believe that we can contribute to making a change in the education and economic inequality that plagues us especially in South Africa.
