As you can see this is a great opportunity for any Art Majoring student aspiring for a career in the Fine Arts. The culture saturation as well as the unique educational benefits of the old world historical tours offer something rare to young artists. A chance to learn not only history of famous artists , but the styles and environmental influences as well. Each museum tour gives detailed history of techniques and symbolization of great artist of times past. Students with specific goals in Art History or intentions of graduating with a Master's of Fine Arts have more to gain from this opportunity as it gives them a better understanding of their field of study.
My name is Jessica Parsons. I am twenty-eight years old and currently attending Kilgore College to obtain a Associates Degree in Art. I plan to transfer to the University of Texas in Tyler,Tx to pursue my Master's in Fine Arts. My dream is to teach art specializing in Art History. I have a 3.6 GPA and all A's in my current classes. I have made the Dean; Art has always been a passion of my heart since I was a child. Unlike other little girls playing dress up, tea parties or with Barbie dolls,..I always could be found with stacks of paper, one pen, one pencil and my own growing collection of art for the day. My father despite his displeasure of my constant theft of his printing paper, was always supporting. He himself was and still is a talented artist. He attended Kilgore High School class of 1982 and earned a scholarship to Kilgore College based on his skill alone. Today he regrets never taking the opportunity he had to pursue his passion. He has always encouraged me to never give up what makes me truly happy, and that is making art.He does not want me to waste any chance given to pursue mastering my skill. I believe every person is born with a gift. Some people can make great and flavorful meals. Others are born with a gift to teach. Some are born with the gift of song. You have those who can counsel. Then you have those who are born with a fire in their soul to make beauty in the world. The greatest joy to an artist is to create art that stirs the soul. Makes you feel. Makes you think. Inspires you..One artists started with just a drawing of a mouse..Today he has a legacy of making people smile and fill their hearts with joy. He knew the impossibilities before him. I know I love art. I love making art. I love inspiring people with my art. I thrive on learning new techniques and applying them to continue to master my craft. God bestows gifts on us and it is up to us how we use them to better the world. I have always taught my children that education is one of the most important things in life. You can learn something new every day. This trip is a experience that many would call "Once in a Lifetime" opportunity. In no logical way could I easily afford a trip like this without putting my family's financial well being at risk. Carefully budgeting of my household is how I have had the opportunity to return to college. But, a chance like this gives me a rare and unique educational experience I otherwise may never get again. It will expand my horizons and could lead to further opportunities I may not have had before. This trip will look fantastic on a transcript as well as give me a competitive edge when applying for the Master's program.
The trip is all exclusive. That means it includes the following:
Flight to and from. All meals. Hotels. Transportation. All tours. All private tour guides for duration of trip. Entrance fees for special venues. Unique sightseeing opportunities.
All of this for $3,879.
Surprisingly, even with how expensive this may appear..It is actually a great deal according to many travel companies. EF College Study Tours comes highly recommended for educational tours and has been used by Kilgore College Art Professors for nearly two decades. Even the Girl Scouts of America has used this company before for specialized tours.
I must have the entirety of payment by March 2018 in order to be able to attend with the group.
In and all donations..No matter how small..Are greatly appreciated. This is a chance I pray I am blessed to take. To those who donate I promise you, your money will be well invested. I have never tried for something like this before. Some would call it impossible for me to raise the money in time..To them I say.
Matthew 19:26 "Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I have faith that this will happen if it truly God's will. I believe I am meant to go on this trip.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I know how much good I could benefit from this trip. I am doing everything I can to save for this trip. However, I can not do it alone.
I thank you now for even the littlest of change you spare to me. For that shows your kindness and belief in me.
