Hi Friend! I need your help in making a childhood dream come true.

I am Kiko Miranda, a theatre and visual artist from Mindanao (Zamboanga City) in the Philippines. For almost a decade now, I have been postponing my plans of organizing my first solo exhibit. I have joined a few local group exhibits in the past and have always feared going solo.

But this time, at 32 years old, I've mustered enough courage to finally work towards the fulfillment of this childhood dream of mine.

My first solo exhibit is entitled: "Mah-Ba-Ylan: Maharlika x Bagani x Babaylan". This exhibit will showcase my latest works using Pen and Ink. The works are inspired by Philippine indigenous noblemen (maharlika), warriors (bagani), and shamans (babaylan). Lately, I have been learning about the stories of pre-colonial Philippine society and fell in love with richness of my own culture. Adding to the inspiration is my love for Philippine indigenous textile patterns which are present in the works which I will be exhibiting. Most of the works are portraits with some works presented in diptych and triptych. The original as well as giclee prints will be exhibited.

MY FIRST FIVE WORKS FOR THE MAH-BA-YLAN EXHIBIT

These FIVE works inspired me to create more works for the collection and pushed me to take the risk of fulfilling my childhood dream.

EXHIBIT VENUE

As of writing, I still do not have my final venue for the exhibit. I am trying to seek approval from a new exhibition venue at a mall in our city. I will regularly update you of the developments and were the final venue of the exhibit will be.

To end, I wish you could support me in this journey of mine to fulfill my childhood dream. With courage, luck, love, and your support, I am confident that this risk that I am taking will all be worth it.
