Hi! I am Shenna Marie Gabronino, 25 years old. I was diagnosed with End Stage Chronic Kidney Disease last July. The Nephrologist then referred me to a Renal Dietitian (for my meal plan) and to the Vascular Surgeon (for my permanent access called fistula). They told me that they will do the best that they can so I can prolong my kidneys (and its function) and to avoid being on dialysis at this early stage. That of course should include my cooperation as well. Medications, a bunch of injections and vaccines, and a long list of procedures were also lined up for me. However, on July 24th, my mom rushed me to National Kidney and Transplant Institute in Quezon City. Another Nephro told me that based on my age, weight, and creatinine level, my kidney function is only at 4% and advised me to have an emergency dialysis. And so I did. I was confined in the ER in a wheelchair for 4 days. During my first month on dialysis, my sessions were 3x a week. Now, it is down to twice a week.

This experience is just too much to handle for me. From the illness itself, to the expenses, and the physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological aspect. Since I heard of my diagnosis, I have been very emotional which is very far from my personality because I am a very jolly, kind-hearted, and fun person to be with (according to my friends and relatives) before we discovered this illness. I registered here so I could ask some help from those who are willing to lend a helping hand. I really hope I could get some funds so I can have a Kidney Transplant as soon as possible and be back to normal.
