Campaign Story
My son Richard is 29, married with a young daughter. We are not really indigent or among the poorest of the poor but a kidney transplant isn't something we can afford. We tried going with the government provided funding but unfortunately the government is only funding the poorest of the poor. A middle-class family as ours can only avail of as much as 20% discount unless you cheat and lie your way into the system.
I thought the transplant would be the only cost, but apparently you'll need to spend at least PhP30,000 (US$ 600) per month after the transplant itself. I'm trying to raise Php 3,000,000 (US$60,000) because the transplant itself is PhP2,000,000 (US$40,000) and I'm allocating another PhP1,000,000 (US$20,000)as reserve for the initial maintenance and unforeseen medical emergencies that may happen after the transplant.

Ready for the first step
Update posted by Rio Bautista at 09:02 amThank you all, we now have enough funds to take the first step. NKTI/Philhealth requires that you have at least Php600,000 at your disposal before we can take the first steps towards the transplant. We will now be filing the requirements and prepare for the kidney-donor work-up procedures. We'll know

A close family member had the same transplant last year and I understand how emotionally and financially taxing it is for the family. God bless and will pray for the success (no rejection! Speedy recovery! Etc! ) . 💚
