Help me get my second chance in life… Kidney Transplant for April Agoncillo

I'm 37 years old with a 7 year-old son and married for 7 years. I have been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD or CKD Stage 5) since August 2018 and was told by my nephrologist that I would need to get a kidney transplant or be on dialysis for life.

The cost of the transplant ranges between 1.2 to 1.5 million pesos. Unfortunately, tests revealed that I have a high number of antibodies, disqualifying me from the government’s Philhealth Z package benefit. That would have covered half of the transplant cost. I was advised to undergo plasmapheresis before transplant to reduce the risk of rejection. The procedure will cost an additional Php500,000 raising the amount we need to 2 million pesos.

Our family do not have the means to finance the entire cost of operation. Due to the current pandemic, our source of income has been greatly affected. We are doing everything we can to come up with the money. We were able to raise some funds to cover the workups (laboratory tests for me and the donor) through donations from family and friends. I also sent requests for medical/financial assistance from the local government and other institutions but aside from the waiting period, approval is not guaranteed.

I'm currently on dialysis 2x a week, on erythropoietin injection 3x a week and taking 4 different maintenance medicines.

Setting up this fundraiser is one of the ways we thought to be able to complete the funds needed for my transplant.

Please help me in getting a second chance in life to be with my son longer.
