Kickstart My Career; Proving Others Wrong

My name is Blake, from Sydney, Australia, recently turned 20 years old. 
My goal of making a living through being an IOS app developer is one that has been a passion of mine. Most of my family have little faith in my ability, feeling that studying at University and getting a 9-5 job is the only way to be successful and mainly because they don't understand the potential and power of the internet. I want to prove them wrong.

I have a twin sister who is extremely intelligent, studying a medical science course at university. The family sees her as the somewhat "prodigy" of the family. There isn't much faith put on myself.

I have been successful so far with my mobile apps, yet this still hasn't affected my families vision. All of which have profited, but I just don't have the funding or tools to start creating some of my main ideas that I know will be a killer.
