UPDATE 03.02.2021

It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our dear friend and work colleague, Luis Canio. Luis spent roughly two weeks in hospital after suffering from a brain aneurysm. Unfortunately, after battling a long fight, Luis passed Sunday 31st January.

Luis will be be missed by all who have had the privilege of working alongside him. All funds raised on this campaign and his wife have been passed to Luis's wife Tina. This fundraising page will close but another will open on givealittle.co.nz in memory of Luis Canio.

Thank you to everyone who donated.
Aroha Nui,

Hi Access / Gunac Team,

Monday night, one of our fellow team members, Luis Canio, suffered from a Brain aneurysm suddenly, causing him to be immediately hospitalised.Thankfully, Luis was rushed to hospital and is now under the care of a great team of medical professionals who are helping him recover. He has had two major operations to help him, all of which have been successful. Despite going through a huge health scare, Luis is still thinking of work.

This just shows the kind of person Luis is. Luis helps anyone out whenever needed with a big smile on his face. He is always providing his expert knowledge in getting our boys out on sites completing quality work for our clients. He is caring, approachable, never says no and anyone who has worked with him will agree that Luis is just downright awesome. Luis only joined us last year, however his impact and contribution to the Access / Gunac team is immense and greatly appreciated. He is a great member of the Access / Gunac family and no doubt needs our support during this time.

Fernando, one of our Gunac Roofing Techs, is very close to Luis and his family and has been keeping us updated about Luis' condition. He has been visiting the hospital to support Luis and his wife Tyna. We hope Luis has a speedy recovery and to know that the whole Access / Gunac team is behind him.

This fundraising campaign is created to support Luis' wife during this time. Luis has a beautiful family with his wife, currently pregnant with their second child. The funds raised will all go to Tyna so she can use as she needs to, while Luis is recovering.

Please remember, the smallest amount can make a difference. $5 can help pay for hospital parking, or $30 can pay for an hour of daycare for their toddler. Any amount helps.

Thank you guys so much for any assistance. To Luis and Tyna, please know we are all hoping that Luis comes home soon.

Que te mejores pronto Luis (Get well soon Luis)

Kia Kaha
