I am a senior at Elizabethtown College going into my last semester. I currently owe the school a little under $3,000 for tuition, which I need to pay off before May in order to graduate.
My family is not financially stable right now due to the fact that my mother had a “thyroid storm” in March which caused her to spend 3 months in the hospital and 3 months in rehab. She is home now, but still needs a walker and wheelchair to get around the house, and is far from being able to return to work. She goes to physical therapy twice every week to help her rebuild her strenghth, but it has been a long road to get here, and she's still got a way to go. I also have four younger siblings who rely on my parents for virtually everything, so my parents are not in a position to help me financially, or else they would.
Right now my family doesn't have a car, my older brothers and I help my parents pay the mortgage, the electricity, and the heat. I work an average of 20 hours per week to pay for my tuition, but I also pay the cell phone bills of myself, my parents, one of my brothers, and both of my sisters, which ends up being most of my pay each month.
Your donations will help me to pay for my tuition so that I can graduate and walk with my class. They will also help me to pay for my books and other supplies for my last semester, so that I can hopefully maintain, or improve, my GPA of 3.75!
