Chemotherapy Sessions & Bone Marrow Transplant for Neil Jann

UPDATE (As of June 11, 2019)

Neil has been discharged from PGH. He had undergone Bone marrow aspiration, chemotherapy, and several blood transfusions on this admission. He had been admitted almost a month recovering. Based on the Bone marrow aspiration result, his leukemia had relapsed (leukemia cells is already inside his bone marrow thus not producing healthy cells) and need to undergo another cycle of chemotherapy for 6 months. As the doctor advised, Neil really needs to undergo Bone Marrow Transplant. As for his parents, the price of the said procedure was not possible as of the moment. BACK STORY:

Neil Jann is only 25 and he suffers from Lymphoma - cancer that begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes.

"NJ" as he is fondly called was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL) in 2010. Luckily, after completing the required chemo sessions, he survived NHL with the help of Chemotherapy and oral medications.

However, he was again rushed to the hospital during the last quarter of 2017. The doctors advised him to stay for observation as this may be a manifestation that his lymphoma had relapsed.

It was then observed that the cancer cells had already reached his bone marrow and that lab results have shown that he is also suffering from Leukemia.

As of this writing, NJ is in the hospital and is set to complete his chemotherapy sessions. The chemo sessions would amount to more than 1 million pesos. Aside from this, doctors have advised NJ to have a Bone Marrow Transplant that may cause around 2 million to 8 million pesos.

NJ is a good son and a brother, a beloved colleague and a responsible citizen. He is a current employee of the University of the Philippines, but has to take a leave of absence as he needs to continue his medication.

Apart from that, NJ dreams of continuing his graduate studies and eventually work as a Special Education Teacher to help children with disabilities. He would also like to be an inspirational speaker as a cancer survivor if given the chance.

We are knocking on your generous hearts to help NJ reach this amount to be able to extend his life and that he may still continue to pursue his dreams. NJ is more than a life worth saving for.
