Keep Special Children Healthy and Safe from Covid-19

I've finally started a gogetfunding campaign for the basic needs, food suplements, milk and diapers of children and youth with disabilities and deformities in our community in Sta. Cruz Zambales.They are children with cerebral palsy, down syndrome, cleft (lip & palate) and mental disability. Due to the pandemic Covid-19 crisis their families specially the bread winners lost their jobs and could hardly provide for the basic needs of the family.

I also conducted a similar fund raising for food suplements, milk and diapers of special children and relief goods for the youth last April 2020, but since only limited donations were received not all are given.

I truly want this children to be kept healthy and strong so they will have resistance to disease like the spreading Corona Virus. And we can only achieve this if their basic needs specially food and clean water are provided. Giving them a monthly supply of milk and diapers will keep them healthy and hygienic as well and live normally with self confidence.

Two of our youth with cerebral palsy who earnestly desire to help their mother to have food on the table pursue their livelihood project of making miniature motorcycles and jeepneys out of scraps and old slippers. But due to quarantine they are not able to dispose or sell their products thus hunger sets in.

A mother, a single parent use her artistic skills to make name signs and artificial flowers and engage in online selling but her income would not suffice for their daily sustenance and unable to buy her CP child milk and diaper.

• If in your generosity, we receive donations for the basic needs of children and youth, I with the parents of these children would be very grateful. Donations received will be used to purchase goods needed and will be distributed by the officers of SMMAK CBR INC. an organization for the handicap where I am the coordinator. It will be distributed among members concerned.
