Greetings all! Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
I have been given an incredible opportunity this summer to travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia for a little over three weeks as a volunteer through a non-profit organization, Edventure International, founded and run by young university students like myself.
Due to Cambodia's falling victim to unprecedented brutality via war and genocide, they have been left with a very large number of orphans and a lack of infrastructure and resources to educate, nourish, and lead these orphans to fulfilling and healthy lives.
I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to travel to Cambodia to help to alleviate the poverty and illiteracy that was unexpectedly thrust upon them during the Vietnam War.
What Will I Be Doing To Help?
Through Edventure International I will have the opportunity to participate in projects such as,
- Working in the local orphanage
- Teaching English to the children and teachers
- Building bio-sand filters to provide clean water
- Delivering water filters to families
- Helping empower local farmers to be able to grow cash crops to stimulate the economy
- Planting gardens to support sustainable agriculture
- Interact with the community to provide necessary human compassion that elicits security, comfort, learning, and friendship
The injustice thrust upon the neutral country of Cambodia and the relative unawareness of the rest of the world to the desolation they have been left in has impassioned me to make this journey. I am so excited to make a difference and challenge myself to be part of a global community.
How Can You Help?
Edventure International is a non-profit organization and therefore we rely on the generosity of people like you to help amass funds. Every project we complete and life we touch could not be done without the donations of friends and family.
My goal is to raise 6,000 dollars, which covers the cost of the program and plane flights. I greatly appreciate any amount you are willing to give, and I want to thank you for even taking the time to log on and read about this exciting time in my life.
