THE BACKGROUND
In 2011 Berkshire Scouts travelled to Uganda to provide support at two very special schools. For more information about Uganda 2011 see: www.berkshirescouts.org.uk/projectafrica.php The visit was part of Project Africa – a global awareness programme to help Berkshire Scouts understand the lives of their peers in Africa and an opportunity to provide support to local communities in Africa. Africa 2015 is a continuation of Project Africa. Around 70 scouts, explorers and leaders (including me(Katie)) from Berkshire are heading out to Uganda on July 26th to help build and refurbish schools, sort out and build teacher accomodation so the rural schools have teachers and learn about how children in small rural communities live.
A BIT ABOUT ME
I am 14 and trying to raise £2,500 to fund this amazing experience and contribute towards teacher salaries for up to 3 years. So far I have raised almost £1,000 through cleaning, painting, gardening and babysitting. While I will continue to do any jobs that come my way if you feel you could make a small doanation to help me achieve my goal I would be very grateful.
There are some training camps that I have to attend before I go and I will be posting photos of the camps here and also my photos of the trip will be here too.
I am offering anyone who will donate more than £10.00 a Project Africa badge if they want one. This badge is of my design and there are only 25 to give away so get yours now!! I will post the badges to you if you would like.
Thanks to everyone who reads this and even more thanks to those who can donate any amount.
