Katie and Erin’s Tanzania Orphange Project 2013

Erin and Katie's Orphange project.

We are travelling to Tanzania for three and a half weeks to volunteer in various orphanages in Arusha, Tanzania. A large number of the children in these orphanages have lost their parents to illnesses such as HIV and Aids and are also often HIV positive themselves. Those children who do have parents have often been sent to the orphanages as their parents cannot provide for them. The orphanages provide education, interaction, food and sanitation in a safe environment for the children.

During our time there we will be helping with the general running of the orphanages, including cooking cleaning and maintenance work as well as teaching basic literacy and maths and caring for the young children and babies.

For us to provide the best possible help and support we can, we need to raise a donation to take with us to buy supplies for the children such as:

• Vitamins/ Basic Medicines.
• First Aid materials
• Clothing
• Books
• Arts and crafts
• Games
• Sport Equipment

We will be carrying out various fundraising activites over the next few months, donations can be given over this website or given to us directly.

Any donations will be much appreciated and will make a big difference to the lives of the children.
