I am Katherine Gretch, I am a dialysis patient since December 18, 2008, at the age of 23 yrs old, I am 34 years old now and still fighting for my everyday life. It's not easy not feeling well all the time, but here I am thanking the Lord every day for waking me up and still living life.
For this year, I need financial help for my dialysis sessions starting July 1. The dialysis center that I am having my dialysis puts up a memo to pay Php200.00 each session even if we still have our Philhealth coverage of 90 sessions. This cashout of Php200.00 is due to the insufficient coverage given by Philhealth.
***In one week: Php200.00 x 3 dialysis sessions=Php600.00
(note that this is still with the coverage of 90 Philhealth sessions)
After the 90 sessions of Philhealth, we will be paying the whole dialysis amount of Php2,400.00 per session. (This is the amount of the dialysis center)
***(After using up all 90 sessions)
In one week: Php2,400.00 x 3 dialysis sessions =Php7,200.00
In one month: Php7,200.00 x 12= Php28,800.00 (this amount is needed every month from August to December)
In 5 months cash out: Php 28,800.00 x 5 = Php 144,000.00.
Plus additional epoetin (injections to increase hemoglobin of blood). This is very essential to a dialysis patient since blood is rinsed every dialysis sessions. Recormon epoetin is injected to me 3x a week amounting to Php1,020.00 per session.
So, Php1,020.00 x 3 sessions = Php3,060.00 in a week and in 1 month a total of Php12,240.00.
We are getting help from PCSO, DSWD, and Philhealth but is not enough to sustain the treatment and medicines for the whole year.
We are petitioning for our Philhealth session and the government to give us at least 156 sessions to cover the whole year.
Since our dialysis center doesn't have an all-in package, we will need to pay for monthly dialyzers too. That is Php 714 per month. Monthly laboratories are mandatory also. That is Php 1,050.00 per month.
As much as I want to have my savings, I cannot maintain it due to all the cash outs needed in a month. All laboratories like 2decho, IPTH, CBC, hepa profile are required.
Through the years, many already helped me, and I am very thankful that I am still alive until now because of their help, help from friends, family, and even people I do not know. God is very good to me.
