SOS Save our Seas from Micro Plastics because every little action counts!

I have really been battling with the idea that it is too late and we cannot make a difference. Everytime I walk on the beach and see these nurdles everywhere I feel so overwhelmed and hopeless that if I don't do something I know I will slip into such a deep depression that my life will be meaningless. I have come to the conclusion that every little action counts no matter how small.

And that is the premise of my SOS save our seas from micro plastics campaign.

SOS Save our Seas from Micro Plastics because every little action counts aims is to raise awareness about micro plastics in Plettenberg Bay South Africa where we have just had one of the biggest recorded nurdle spills. The plan is to have a competition over the next 2 months with cash prizes for the person that collects the most, thereby motivating people to collect micro plastics and nurdles off the beach. The goal is to remove as many nurdles off the beach as possible as well as create awareness about micro plastics in general. In addition to advocating the Refuse, Reuse, Remake & Recycle ideology, which encourages people not to consume so many unhealthy foods and drinks which use single use plastic wrappers and bottles. We would like to inspire the general public to help clean the beaches and make better use of time spent there as aposed to just sitting around building sandcastles making more of a mess with their trash. Ultimately it would also be great to raise funds for wages to pay a team of people to solely collect micro plastics as well as create sculptures that can be installed at all the beaches to raise awareness about micro plastic pollution and the Zombie corporations that make it cheaper to produce virgin plastics than it is to recycle.
