Karl Zian P. Carbonell aged only 3 months, October 08, 2017my son's admitted in Philippine Heart Center, East Avenue, Quezon City, Philippines. Admission due to insessant crying and hypercyunotic spell, hence we brought my son to PHC Emergency Room.

Upon admission at PICU, hydration was started and he was given sedation. October 09, 2017 2D echo was done which revealed he have a Congenital Heart Disease AVSD type C, malposed great arteries and TAPVC. He was referred to TCVS and was scheduled for PA banding and TAPVC correction.

October 16, 2017 first open heart surgery of my son for PA banding and TAPVC correction, he had episodes of hypotension at the operating room hence he was transferred to the SICU with open chest.

On the 10th hospital day, he remained intubated, sedated and paralyzed. On the 12th hospital day, sternal closure was done. On the 13th hospital day, he was noted with episodes of hypotension hence debutamine started. Repeat chest xray showed beginning congestion hence diaretics were increased. On the 17th hospital day, he was transferred to Pediatric ICU. Sedation was gradually weaned as well as mechanical ventilation. He was maintained on Epinephrine, Debutamine and Isoket drips. Antibiotics and diuretics were continued. On the 18 hospital day, feeding was gradually resumed hoever was noted with increasing abdominal distension, TPN was started. On the 20th hospital day, he had on episode of bradycardia and ventricular fibrillation. Hyperkalemia was noted. Cardiac resuscitation was done and thanks God he was revived. He was maintained on inotropic support. Electrolyte imbalance corrected. On the 22nd hospital day, he had atrial tachycardia with HR noted at 250. He was referred to arrhythmia service and amiodarone drip started. Inotrupic support was gradually weaned. On the 23rd hospital day, he had persistence of abdominal distension with hypoactive bowel sounds. No arrythmia was noted but decrease urine output. He was referred to a Pediatric Nephrologist and TCVS for peritoneal dialysis.

This above impressions were base in the last update of Clinical Abstract of my son. He still admitted at PICU for some treatment. No exact date for discharge but hoping and always keep praying to God nothing impossible, soon my loving son will be transferre to Childrens Ward for his total recovery.

With this, i humbly request for your help to raise fund for the Hospitalization Bills of my son. We appreciate anything that people can donate.

For the excess fund, it will be spend for the next 2 heart surgery of my son. Possible second surgery when he is a 6 months old to 1 year old. And last surgery between 4 to 5 years old. But it depends by the Doctor recommendations/findings.
