When I was approached about competing in the Mrs. Washington International Pageant, my first reaction was no – I’m a stroke survivor! I quickly learned that this organization is all about highlighting the accomplishments of Washington State's married women, as well as their passion to serve and knew this was for me. I'm very active in the community raising awareness about heart disease and stroke as a Go Red For Women Ambassador with the American Heart Association. I passionately served on the Advocacy Advisory Board for the National Stroke Association plus manage my support group for young adult stroke survivors called Reclaiming Ourselves .

Competing as Mrs. Pierce County International is a costly endeavor and this is why I'm asking you for your support. I am raising money to help cover travel costs, my entree fee, lodging accommodations, as well as the required outfits for the different phases of competition. (Interview 50%, Fitness 25%, Evening Gown 25%)
