Karel had a relapse and is in very serious condition in Steve Biko in the ICU.
It seems an infection is the culprit, and his condition is VERY VERY serious.
We ask for your prayers and support at this difficult time. We will update this section on a regular basis.

Huge Hospital Bill of R 189 000
Karel is recovering at home with his father, and is being cared for by a registered nurse. The total outstanding Hospital bill is still R 189 000 (After paying more than R229 000)
He is receiving care and recovering well.
Karel Fredrik De jager was in critical condition at the Unitas ICU in isolation.
He has a Viral Infection (of unknown origin) that has affected his Heart & Liver function.
Doctor's are fighting for his life and at this stage the priority is to stabilize his conditions, before other treatment options can be considered.
Karel lost his medical aid membership when the company he worked for suffered a devastating fire. As such, if he is moved to a state facility, it would severely impact his chances of survival.
Your help and support can keep him at Unitas, and drastically improve his chances of surviving this terrible and unexpected illness.
